The Elliot House
(aka Eliot House, Elliott House)Various postcards state "Chief Tecumseh's shelter
during War of 1812, and home where Eliza in Uncle Tom's Cabin also found shelter
after escaping slavery."
Located a mile south of Amherstburg along the Detroit River, 849 Front Road South (c.1835). The location has recently been built over with a new residence.

Opened September 20, 1981. Planning began in the early 1960s spearheaded by Melvin "Mac" Simpson (1917 - 1982).
